When will it End?
July 10, 2007 at 12:29 pm | In Generall Discussion, Politics | 2 CommentsI was just reading a news website and came to know that a Army Captain along with 7 other security officials have died in the Full fledge military operation to rid Lal Mosque to terrorists. It’s been a week now since this all started and there has been nothing but killings, and one fail
s to understand the logic behind the stand of Mullana Ghazi and his motives. He is still hiding in a basement inside mosque with children as his human shield.
3Days back I heard Mullana saying that there are no children inside mosque on Geo.tv and yet in morning today 20 children’s fled from the mosque. So don’t understand the logic of Mullana stand.
Even now he could save lives by coming out and surrendering but it seems highly unlikely and he seems intent on dying. Mullana had a very genuine point 5 months back about the upholding of Islamic Law and sanctity of mosques but in past 6 months he and his brother have done all that what they stood against.

First, I dont believe that they or anyone who talks about the upholding of Islamic laws in Pakistan has a genuine point. Can we implement Islamic laws in a state which is not a social welfare state ? A state where people are dying of hunger, millions living way below poverty line, can we implement the rule of cutting off the hands of a thief ? It is the responsibility of a state to first provide social welfare and only then can we implement Shariyat.

But there has to be a starting point. My point of view is, the state is responsible for implementation of Islamic Law (Shariyat), and if the state fails to do so, then the hadith becomes applicable on individuals, which says “if u see evil, stop it using your hands, if you CAN’T, stop it with your words, and still if you CAN’T, know the evil from within yourself and this is the LEAST grade of Imaan.
I think, anyone who talks about Islamic law has a point, and if once the Islamic laws are PROPERLY implemented, the society itself would become a place of welfare for everyone. By proper implementation I mean giving the zakat, giving in the way of Allah, knowing Huqooq-ullah, and Huqoo-ul-Ibad.
